Every Tales of Mahj collection begins with a woman.
Not one particular woman, but a part of all of us.
As I imagined new collections, I realized I wasn’t simply designing mahjong sets. I was exploring the many qualities that make women who they are. Some qualities are timeless. Others appear only at certain moments in our lives. Together, they tell a story that is endlessly evolving.
Gigi is my homage to the women of the Art Deco era, a time when American mahjong found its place around the table. She celebrates elegance, refinement, and quiet confidence. She reminds us that beauty often lies in the smallest details.
Alice celebrates imagination. Inspired by my daughter, she reminds us that wonder has no age. She is the dreamer within us—the one who asks questions, invents stories, and believes that ordinary moments can become extraordinary.
These are only the beginning.
More muses are waiting to be introduced, each representing another facet of womanhood: courage, freedom, creativity, resilience, curiosity, joy, and so many others.
Together, they form a collection of women—not defined by appearance, but by the qualities they inspire.
My hope is that, somewhere among these muses, every woman will recognize a part of herself.
